Why they're awesome: Florence has epic hair and one hell of a voice

Why they're awesome: They all have epic hair (not that I value hair or anything), Charlie has an awesome voice and their lyrics are freaking brilliant.

Why they're awesome: They make me listen to the music. It's in Hopelandic (Icelandic with a few made up words thrown in) so to me it just sounds like some beautiful music mixed in with some beautiful sounds. It's all good.

So it is officially half term (for those who go to my school, at least). I LOVE INSET DAYS :D
I've been watching AVPM constantly for the past five hours. My friend decided, eventually, to watch it and consequently succeeded in rekindling my love for Quirrelmort ("We're quite a cookie couple, you'll agree").
I tried to make Sarah watch it this morning while we were on the phone. She watched three parts and all the while kept making pedantic comments such as: "Ugh, I hate how it's been done by Americans", "Is Snape a woman? No? Well that's just disturbing." and, the most obvious, "Um, Cho Chang does not look like that." O rly?
I know I needn't worry. She'll see the light soon enough.

So, as you may have figured out from the title it is nearing my second anniversary on LiveJournal. I was just browsing through some of my old entries (probably one of the most humiliating things I have ever done) and, on reaching the first post, discovered that I started out on this site on 8th September 2007. When I was... 10! What? TEN?! That cannot be right. Holy crap.
Not only am I nearing my LJ's birthday but I myself am preparing for my journey into teenagerism. I don't expect much'll change, since I am what my mother dearest calls "mature". What she basically means is that my brain is a few year's ahead of itself (unlike my maturity which is trailing behind slightly). This has always been problematic as people of my own age *generally annoy and frustrate me. Great when you have to spend eight hours a day with them ¬_¬.
I cannot wait for autumn. It is by far the best season- it has big coats and leaves and wooly hats. It has the cosiness of winter without freezing your face off. Brilliant.
It's also an opportunity for me to show off my 99p duffle coat that I love so very much (courtesy of eBay, of course)
*Note: I say generally, because there are a few people of my own age that don't aggravate me. But they have to like Doctor Who, otherwise they have no chance.

So I just got back from my holidays in Sardinia. It was:
-Too hot
-Boring
-Lonely
-Unclean
and generally horrific in true family holiday fashion.
One good thing did come out of it, however, while browsing through the stalls in the market:
AAANNNND, yesterday me and my friends decided that we're going to go and see Noah and the Whale play at the Sage!
YAYAYAYAY!
And then my friend Rosie asked me if I wanted to go and see Florence and the Machine with her and her friend Alice at the O2 Academy because she has a spare ticket!
SQUEEEEEE!

So yes. I'm back from the land of DA where the arty people who can actually draw live. It's awfully intimidating over there, sometimes. I'm going around saying "Oh look at me, I can do stickmen cartoons" and then some other user comes up to me and thrusts an exact sketch of David Tennant's left toenail in my face. Or something of the sorts.
Many many things have happened since I last blogged here. Far too many things to type down here, actually. Some of the big things include:
-being converted into an anime/manga fan
-coming top of the year in English. *ENGLISH NERD*
-practically marrying facebook
-cosplaying
-buying a new ukulele for £130 and then accidentally dropping my laptop on it, creating a small hole. (this happened yesterday. My parents are far from pleased)
-finding srsly awesome bands like Florence + The Machine, Noah And The Whale and Flight Of The Conchords
-seeing Matt Smith's outfit for the first time and nearly wetting myself with laughter
-being very very bored (as of this morning)
Those are just a few of the exciting events that have been popping up around the place in the weird yet quite often wonderful world of Mary Winn.

YES. I AM READING HTKAMB. WHAT A FRUSTRATINGLY LONG TITLE. (CAPS LOCK FTW)
We have to read a classic for English over half-term and I am up to here *points to head* with Jane Eyre (is it Jayne?) and Pride And Prejudice. NO MORE SOPPINESS.
(No offence to people who like it. I just can never get past the first page and am hiding my illiterate(ish) shame in angst)
Is it me or am I using alot of brackets today?
Oooh! Did I tell you about the HUGE library opening in town?
Well I just have!
BECAUSE IT'S HUGGGE!
But... because it's in town and we don't live there we won't be able to loan anything out but I can go and-wait for it- SMELL THE BOOKS. YAY!
